General Paving Superintendent

About the role

Independence Excavating is seeking a General Paving Superintendent to oversee concrete paving projects across the country. This is a traveling position requiring frequent site visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations on construction sites
• Ensure compliance with FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, and state DOT specifications
• Develop and maintain a work schedule with the project manager
• Communicate with Construction Operations Manager about schedules and resource needs
• Review and approve equipment and personnel needs with foremen
• Direct and lead onsite foremen and subcontractors
• Communicate project plans and directives to foremen and subcontractors
• Represent the company professionally and ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Lead the overall construction effort in alignment with design, quality, and schedule
• Coordinate project resources and strategies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5-10 years of experience as a Superintendent
• Working knowledge of relevant construction certifications and training
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with clients and government officials
• Experience managing union workforces
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Willingness to obtain necessary certifications as needed
