Metalex is building a candidate pipeline for current and future manufacturing opportunities across multiple shifts.
Schedule
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Paid breaks and lunch. Weekly pay.
Types of Positions
- General Factory / Production: Entry-level manufacturing and assembly; training for additional responsibilities; housekeeping and safety compliance.
- Main Machine Operator: Set up and safely operate production equipment such as stamping/perforating presses, expanders, cut-to-length equipment, lasers, turret presses, tube-forming equipment, and TIG welders; inspect parts and read drawings/routings.
- Press / Shear Operator & Set-Up: Set up and operate shearing, blanking, notching, piercing, and metal-forming equipment; make setup adjustments and perform quality inspections.
- Material Handler / Forklift Operator: Move and stage raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods; operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts; support material identification, routing, and safe stacking.
- Warehouseman / Shipping & Receiving: Pick and package orders, receive and tag material, stage raw coils, support shipping/receiving, skidding/banding, and operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
- Tool & Die – Levels 1-3: Set up and operate tool-room equipment; repair, troubleshoot, modify, fit, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling based on experience level.
Skills & Experience
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow shop rules, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing; prior manufacturing experience is preferred for many skilled roles.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, routings, and/or work instructions depending on position.
- Basic shop-floor math and ability to use measuring/inspection tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, protractors, and micrometers depending on role.
- Machine operation, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and quality inspection experience for operator-level positions.
- Stand-up and sit-down forklift experience/certification for material handling and warehouse positions; crane experience is a plus for some roles.
- Shipping/receiving, skidding, banding, order picking, ERP/system transactions, and material identification experience for warehouse opportunities.
- Tool-room machining, grinders, mills, drill presses, lathes, close-tolerance work, die repair, and precision measurement for Tool & Die opportunities.
- Attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, communication, housekeeping, and willingness to learn/train.
- Ability, as required by the position, to perform repetitive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting of cumbersome/heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
