General Merchandise Clerk, Afternoons and Weekends

About the role

This entry-level team member position will be exposed to a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, and merchandising in departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral.

You will collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed, delivering remarkable customer service with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with customers and display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Assist customers with questions; direct them to another team member if you cannot answer their question.
• Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong listening and communication skills, both face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Process-driven with the ability to follow procedures in an organized and efficient way.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis.
