The General Manufacturing Associate is responsible for assembling, packaging, inspecting, and supporting the production of medical devices in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures products are manufactured in accordance with established quality standards, production schedules, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements. The associate operates production equipment, performs visual and manual inspections, completes required documentation, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, package, label, and inspect medical devices in accordance with approved procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and production machinery safely and effectively while adhering to established work instructions.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and identify, segregate, or report non-conforming materials and products.
  • Accurately complete production records, batch documentation, inspection records, and other manufacturing documentation in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Utilize measuring devices, tools, and equipment to verify product specifications and ensure product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, quality procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, quality personnel, and support functions to achieve departmental goals.
  • Cross-train and rotate between workstations as required to support production demands.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing, production, assembly, or related experience OR successful completion of PBS requirements and assessment at the appropriate level.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Basic math, reading comprehension, and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter or review production information electronically.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule, overtime, weekends, or shift assignments as business needs require.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or other regulated production environments.
  • Experience with intricate hand assembly and use of fine motor skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or 5S principles.
  • Experience using measuring devices, inspection tools, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve routine production or quality issues.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Applies basic manufacturing knowledge and follows established procedures and work instructions.
  • Performs routine assignments under direct supervision with guidance provided for new or complex tasks.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and manual dexterity required for product assembly and inspection activities.
  • Exercises limited judgment in resolving routine production issues and escalates concerns appropriately.
  • Maintains a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Effectively adapts to changing priorities and production requirements.
  • Interacts primarily with supervisors, peers, quality personnel, and manufacturing support teams.
