General Manager - Sports & Social Ball Park Village

About the Role

The Sports & Social Club is a relaxed sports bar offering classic pub food and tremendous sports viewing in a comfortable tavern setting. Serving lunch, dinner, and dynamic nightlife, the venue also features bowling, live entertainment, and a fully equipped private party room. The restaurant and bar are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including two 100-inch high-definition projectors and digital surround sound, making it the perfect destination for sports viewing and socializing.

Responsibilities

• Control day-to-day operations within company policies and guidelines.
• Maintain professional company image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
• Manage service contracts with outside vendors, including third-party entertainment vendors and the Entertainment Director if applicable.
• Prepare operational statements and other financial disclosures, taking appropriate actions.
• Control Profit & Loss by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports.
• Ensure daily deposits are made, safe counts are conducted, and venue cash is secured at all times.
• Maintain cost of goods sold, nightly comps, nightly recap reports, and safe audits by overseeing inventory counts.
• Respond to customer service needs to provide the highest standards of service.
• Complete financial and personnel/payroll-related administrative duties accurately and on time.
• Recruit, interview, and hire team management members; train, supervise, and motivate staff; take disciplinary action and terminate when necessary.
• Ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to carry out their job functions.
• Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
• Represent the venue professionally to the community, including local businesses, civic organizations, and media.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4-year college degree or equivalent in restaurant management preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in restaurant/nightclub management; multi-unit management experience is a plus.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Strong people management, communication, and listening skills.
• Proven ability to lead a team and communicate efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
• Internally motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about teaching others.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
