About the role

Our client is a major global supplier of systems and equipment for the aerospace industry. They design cutting-edge technologies to improve aircraft performance and enhance flight safety. The General Manager ensures the Business Strategy aligns with the Component Repair Business Line, leads the business to meet strategic goals, performance targets, and sales/profit targets, and oversees regulatory compliance, customer relationships, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the accountable manager for all repair station activities, including operations, quality, planning, contracts, and personnel.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • Ensure availability of resources (manpower, materials, equipment) for repair activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Manage project plans to accommodate variables and minimize schedule impacts.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations, including turnaround time, on-time delivery, productivity, and quality targets.
  • Lead sales efforts through marketing, pricing strategies, and customer support.
  • Invest in capability development and manage the CAPEX budget and projects.
  • Handle business transfer projects and additional work items that arise during projects.
  • Manage projects to achieve budgeted hours and material targets while driving efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure processes are in place to protect customer assets.
  • Communicate with customers, providing status reports, technical support, and negotiating contracts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a 14 CFR Part 145 certified repair station.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing or repair.
  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally – 20%.
  • US Citizen preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communication with authorities, certification auditors, and management.
  • Proficiency in lean production, TQM, or Six Sigma.
  • Competencies in communication, decision making, organization, problem-solving, and results orientation.
  • Ability to coordinate quality, environmental, and health action plans.
  • Effective presentation skills.
