General Manager Production - B Shift - WATERLOO PORK PLANT

About the Role

This position directs and trains supervisors in all facets of production operations, including production paperwork, yield management, time and attendance tracking, disciplinary procedures, motivation strategies, turnover reduction, absenteeism management, and safety protocols. You will be accountable for performance in key areas such as safety, quality, workers' compensation, turnover rates, bid movement, and team member morale. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and train supervisors in:
  • Production documentation
  • Yield management
  • Time and attendance tracking
  • Disciplinary procedures
  • Motivation strategies
  • Turnover reduction
  • Absenteeism management
  • Safety protocols
  • Problem-solving initiatives
• Manage all production operations at the facility, including:
  • Production supervisors and departments
  • Production schedules and product rotation
  • CCP verification
  • Safety committee oversight
  • Reviewing and developing team members in these roles
• Conduct audits and inspections across all areas of the production floor
• Perform CCP monitoring and verification
• Some travel may be required as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Two years of employment at Tyson (meat industry) or equivalent experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with processing floor operations (required)
• HACCP certification or understanding of basic HACCP principles and ability to perform CCP monitoring/verification (a plus)
• Previous GF experience or supervisor floater experience (required)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to access all areas of the production floor, including fixed ladders, stairs, and steps
• Able to tolerate environmental conditions (temperatures ranging from 28–45 degrees)
