Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Austin office, including facilities, vendor management, and onsite team support
- Own payment operations end-to-end: reconciliation, settlements, disputes, and chargebacks
- Manage and optimize integrations with payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, PayPal, or similar) in partnership with engineering
- Build and improve scalable processes across operations, finance support, compliance, and administration
- Partner with leadership on operational planning, budgeting, and key performance metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and data teams to support operational efficiency and system reliability
- Oversee compliance and risk areas related to payments (PCI-DSS, KYC/AML, regulatory considerations)
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team development for the Austin office
- Identify operational gaps and implement solutions in a fast-moving environment
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in operations, payments, or fintech, with leadership responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with API-based payment platforms and payment workflows (integrations, webhooks, transaction flows)
- Strong understanding of payment systems, settlement processes, reconciliation, and fraud/chargeback management
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS and KYC/AML
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong project management and vendor management skills
- Able to collaborate effectively with technical teams; familiarity with modern software environments is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus
- Preferred experience scaling operations in early-stage or growth-stage companies
- Exposure to international payments and cross-border compliance
- Background in fintech or payments-focused organizations
