Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY: Our client is seeking a highly experienced and transformational General Manager to lead a critical Center of Excellence in Greenville, MI. This GM will lead and drive operational excellence through multiple key product lines. They will be accountable for the site’s operating P&L and for leading cross-functional teams across operations, sourcing, quality, and other site functions. The General Manager will execute on strategic projects and strengthen operational discipline while driving employee engagement.

Job Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Developing and executing the long-term strategy of the Center of Excellence, including operational excellence, productivity, and margin improvement - Leading manufacturing operations to best-in-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity - Managing to financial targets including full accountability for margin and cash through cost and capital management - Driving improvement in safety culture, including comprehensive mapping of all deficiencies and executing action plans to eliminate hazards and sustain safe behaviors - Translating strategic priorities into clear, actionable operation plans and cascading them across the site to drive aligned execution - Establishing KPIs and performance management systems to drive accountability, visibility, and data-driven decision-making - Delivering productivity and profitability improvements by reducing cost, increasing throughput, and eliminating waste across the value stream - Building scalable systems, processes, and workforce capabilities to support growth and operational excellence, including deployment of basic Lean tools (Visual and Daily Management, Standard Work, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) - Optimizing the manufacturing footprint and layout, including capacity planning, automation, and make-vs-buy strategies - Building and developing a high-performing leadership team with strong succession planning - Improving workforce engagement by bringing a culture of safety, accountability, and personal growth across all levels of the organization - Ensuring all products meet or exceed quality, reliability, and performance expectations - Developing a quality management system, incorporating customer and product engineering requirements into manufacturing controls - Partnering with Product Development, Engineering, and Product Management to align product roadmap with manufacturing capabilities and market needs - Championing design-for-manufacturability, cost optimization, and product reliability - Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing capital investments that enhance efficiency, capacity, and long-term value - Communicating business performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in manufacturing Proven track record of transformation, turnaround, and stabilization of a business Demonstrated experience ramping up new manufacturing processes, site consolidations, line moves, and new product introduction Industry experience in appliances or industrial equipment manufacturing a plus Expert at implementing and training on all foundational Lean tools, including but not limited to: Visual Management, Daily Management, Transactional Process Improvement, Standard Work/Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving, 6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 8 wastes, Gemba walks, etc. Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional teams Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and capital investment analysis
