About the role

Taste Buds Kitchen offers a unique opportunity to instruct cooking classes, camps, and parties for ages 2-99. The role includes:

  • Engaging and teaching guests about various cooking/baking skills related to the class menu.
  • Interacting with all guests to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting the owner in the setup and running of the business.
  • Ensuring all company policies, systems, and local laws are followed.
  • Maintaining high cleanliness & branding standards in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Taste Buds Kitchen hosts events 7-days a week, requiring open availability including nights and weekends.
  • Initially spending 50-75% of your time instructing classes.
  • Ensuring all clients have a great experience through excellent customer service.
  • Aiding in the hiring, training, managing, scheduling, and developing the employee team.
  • Acting as an emergency substitute if an employee cannot attend their shift.
  • Managing and maintaining a motivated team.
  • Improving and streamlining systems for efficiency.
  • Assisting in responding to sales inquiries from clients and bookings to meet sales goals.
  • Maintaining high cleanliness & branding standards in the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Proficient with a range of cooking techniques.
  • Experience working with people of all ages.
  • Experience working in an events business.
  • 1-3 years experience in a management position.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must enjoy the atmosphere of a small business.

Qualifications

  • Great leader capable of recruiting and training staff.
  • Formal culinary education or equivalent experience a plus.
