About the Role
The General Manager (GM) is a full-time salaried employee and the face of Regal, responsible for the overall operation of the theatre. This includes proactively leading the theatre team to ensure achievement of business goals in revenue, expense, profitability, guest satisfaction, inventory control, and employee morale, while acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with its mission statement and policies.
Responsibilities
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Uphold and administer all Regal policies as outlined in ROM and Corporate directives.
- Ensure all cash management policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Control concession inventory shortages and spoilage levels.
- Monitor janitorial staff to ensure the facility is cleaned to Regal standards daily.
- Oversee the hiring, training, developing, supervising, counseling, scheduling, and—after conferring with the Human Resources Manager—terminating of employees.
- Properly administer all applicable HR paperwork and uphold company policies.
- Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
- Supervise all staff positions, including projection and audio-visual equipment (hardware and software), film handling (threading, building-up, tearing down), and maintenance.
- Maintain working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and related skills.
- Control costs, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession/café stock, and managing inventory and auditing processes.
- Supervise theatre maintenance (building and grounds), perform minor repairs, and coordinate qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns.
- Monitor risk management, including cast member and guest safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and proper handling, reporting, and investigating of accidents.
- Manage guest relations, marketing and promotions of feature films, scheduling of movie showtimes, and timely delivery of showtimes to proper channels.
- Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, discount tickets, and other modes of payment).
- Comply with dress code and ensure guest satisfaction through positive interactions.
- Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
- Review and understand the ROM, and complete training on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of post-secondary education in Business or two years of management/supervisory experience.
- REU attendance preferred.
- Working knowledge of booth and projection technology, including maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and related skills.
- If the theatre sells alcohol, must be of legal age to sell/serve alcohol and complete any legally required state/local training, including Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises an unspecified number of employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, and addressing complaints or resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
