About the role
The General Manager at Call Your Mother is the CEO of their shop. They oversee kitchen operations, front-of-house service, team development, and shop profitability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, from opening to closing, ensuring the highest level of service and efficiency.
- Solve problems proactively and maintain the shop's optimal performance.
- Lead and motivate the team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Manage and train team members, conduct performance evaluations, and adhere to CYM values ("VIBES").
- Maintain shop cleanliness, manage equipment, and ensure food safety standards.
- Coordinate food and beverage management, including inventory and budgeting.
- Recruit, hire, and train new team members.
- Schedule shifts to cover all positions effectively, addressing call-outs and emergencies.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of restaurant management experience.
- A good understanding of P&L, COGS, decision-making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, and team development.
- ServeSafe Manager’s Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, coordinate food and labor costs, and maintain operational standards.
- Hospitality-oriented and passionate about the guest experience.
- Proactive, hands-on management style, willing to lead by example.
- Positive, energetic, and proactive attitude.
- Flexible to work weekends and holidays.
