General Manager 3 - Food

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead dining operations at Birmingham Green, a 300-resident assisted living and skilled nursing community in Manassas, Virginia. The role oversees dining room and tray service, one manager, and approximately 30 hourly staff.

About the role

In this leadership position, you will oversee daily food service operations, ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction. You will guide and develop your team while managing financial performance and building strong relationships with clients and customers. Accountable for setting direction, deploying resources, and making hire/fire decisions, your success depends on influencing and negotiating across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring smooth service, food quality, and resident satisfaction
• Manage and develop one manager and approximately 30 hourly staff
• Drive operational excellence while meeting financial goals and performance targets
• Build and maintain strong client and customer partnerships
• Influence team growth through coaching, engagement, and professional development
• Collaborate across departments to innovate and improve service delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service management or directorship, preferably in large or complex settings
• Leadership skills with a track record of building positive team culture, employee retention, and staff development
• Solid financial expertise, including budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis
• Hands-on, results-oriented approach with the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and maintain strong client relationships
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2–5 years of management experience
• 2–5 years of related experience
• CDM certification required or must obtain

Pay

Annual salary range: $77,605 – $100,430, based on experience, skills, education, and training.
