General Maintenance Worker
About the role
The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for handling basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing electrical components, repairing sinks, and conducting routine inspections.
Responsibilities
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Plastering or patching minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
- Painting structures and equipment
- Rebuilding or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
- Hanging doors and installing and lubricating door locks
- Replacing broken windowpanes
- Maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Oversight of contractors for professional repairs
- Diagnosing and correcting mechanical issues
Requirements
- Proven maintenance experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Related degree from a technical college
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
- Experience performing routine maintenance
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Eye for detail
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Strong time management skills
- Active and valid North Carolina Real ID driver's license without restrictions
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Successful completion of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy
- Authorization to work in the US or authorization by the successful candidate’s start date
Benefits
Compensation includes an expected salary of $29.07/hr, with additional benefits and compensation contingent upon the successful applicant’s qualifications and the company’s discretion.
