GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER
About the role
General Maintenance Workers perform a wide variety of general building maintenance and minor repair work involving carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing or other mechanical and maintenance skills.
Responsibilities
- Utilize functional skills in carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, and mechanical areas.
- Maintain and repair wooden structures, electrical components, concrete, brick, asphalt areas, and interior/exterior surfaces.
- Fix leaks, unclog drains, replace fixtures or fittings, and perform minor plumbing repairs.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, work on irregular surfaces, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and lift up to 10-25 pounds frequently.
Requirements
- Two years of experience performing general building maintenance and minor repair work in at least two of the following areas: carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, or plumbing.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.
Special Requirement Information
This position involves small-scale maintenance, installation, and repair tasks across various trades to maintain functionality and safety of facilities. Tasks are typically limited in scope and performed using hand, power, or pneumatic tools in compliance with safety and building standards.
License
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.
Physical Class III Moderate
Stand or walk most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.
