About the role
Tessera is seeking a hard-working and dedicated General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a variety of tasks, which may include applying touch-up paint, painting structures or buildings, replacing windows, changing door fixtures, and repairing or replacing paneling.
- Assists skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or masonry work.
- Maintains and upkeeps buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Operates power tools such as circular saws, miter saws, reciprocating saws, hand drills, impact drills, hand saws, routers, chain saws, etc., in a safe manner.
- Operates a forklift to move materials.
- Operates a vehicle with a trailer attached.
- Communicates and interacts directly with customers, informing them of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
- Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.
- Communicates with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
- Removes snow and ice to maintain clear and safe sidewalks, two-way roadways, parking areas, emergency exits, and fire hydrants.
- Ensures roadways and walkways are treated as needed to ensure safety.
- Picks up and disposes of trash, debris, cigarette butts, and litter including around all trash dumpsters, loading docks, and patios daily.
- Provides services required to protect health, supplies, grounds, and real property with regard to control of insects, rodents, and other pests.
- Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain one required.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
- A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
- A Department of Energy (DOE) pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required.
