Position Location

This position is located on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Job Overview

The General Maintenance Worker under the direction of the Facility Supervisor will manage daily maintenance operations and respond to work orders and requests. They will plan and execute repairs, coordinate with other trades, and ensure facility readiness.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, repair, and install equipment, components, and systems supporting the facility and infrastructure.
• Plan and organize work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal/written instructions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools for various tasks.
• Coordinate with other trades and warehouse personnel for material requisitions.
• Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
• Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
• Perform on-call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
• Support warehouse space maintenance, file management, and telephone answering.
• Aid other department staff and trade groups as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Mandatory: High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• At least two (2) years of experience performing maintenance in a Facilities environment.
• General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Familiarity with basic mathematical functions.
• Good working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people professionally.
• Mature judgment and ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred

• Trade certifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry.
• Competency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
