General Maintenance & Transportation

Essential Functions

• Consistent and punctual attendance at the worksite is an essential job function.
• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Keeps his/her assigned bus clean.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects and notifies the proper authorities in the case of mechanical failure.
• Keeps to his/her assigned schedule.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and advises about all possible safety problems.
• Participates in the necessary painting and general repairs to all physical facilities in the district.
• Participates in the maintenance of the school grounds and assists in snow removal.
• Participates in the delivery of supplies and equipment to the school buildings.
• Participates in the transportation in the food service program of the district.
• Performs emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary or as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Other Requirements (Intellectual, Sensory)

• Visual and auditory requirements for driving, loading and unloading.
• Motor skills - hands/legs/feet.
• Follows written and oral instructions.
• Makes safe driving decisions.
