General Maintenance Technician I

About the role

The General Maintenance Technician I performs services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, interior finishes, and appliance servicing. They are knowledgeable in industry and company standards and must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance defects and concerns to prescribed standards.

Responsibilities

• Works in a team environment in a primarily response role to complete inspections, repairs, and preparation of guest units.
• Aid guests and staff in resolving unit maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions.
• Assist the preventative maintenance team in preparing the property for guests.
• Perform general maintenance duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with work experience or vocational training.
• Six months to 1 year of building maintenance experience or construction experience is preferred.
• Maintain accurate records of units serviced and work performed.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have the ability to perform skilled work in general maintenance.
• Proficient skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
• Knowledge of telephone and TV troubleshooting for the signal.
• Knowledgeable in problem-solving and repairing major appliances.
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.
