About the role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced construction and maintenance professional who can work across commercial construction projects, general repairs and upkeep on our locally owned real estate, and service work orders for our Facilities Maintenance clients -- while representing Osborne professionally on-site.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled carpentry and general construction tasks including framing, drywall, finishing, and fixture work
- Read plans and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and installation methods
- Support crews with punch-list items, formwork, and general construction tasks to help keep projects on schedule
- Perform general repairs and upkeep on Osborne's locally owned real estate, including carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor plumbing/electrical tasks
- Handle routine property maintenance such as light landscaping and seasonal/weather-related upkeep
- Identify maintenance issues and communicate recommendations before they become larger problems
- Respond to and complete Facilities Maintenance client service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Meet with clients, tenants, and vendors on-site while representing Osborne professionally
- Perform on-site assessments to help scope work and prepare basic quotes/estimates for work orders
- Cookordination with the Facility Maintenance Coordinator and construction leadership on priorities and scheduling
- Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain a clean, organized work area
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in commercial carpentry, general construction, or facility maintenance
- Proven skills in framing, drywall, finishing, and general repair work; working knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints/specifications and verify layouts on construction projects
- Professional communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, tenants, and vendors
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with team members and leadership
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of required pre-employment screening, which may include a background check, drug screening, and physical capacity evaluation consistent with job requirements
- Preferred: basic hand tools, forklift/scissor lift experience, CPR/First Aid certification
