General Maintenance Technician- AM & Mid Shifts

About the role

The General Maintenance Technician performs maintenance service and repairs in plumbing, drywall, texture, tile, carpentry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, laminates, granite, and appliance servicing at a skilled level. This position is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards. The role requires experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Work in a team environment to do repairs and prepare guest villas.

Responsibilities

• Handle in-house repairs including removal and replacement of ceramic tiles, painting, repair or replacement of wallboard systems, carpentry, cabinetry, laminate replacement, and granite repairs.
• Assist guests and staff in resolving unit maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions.
• Utilize specific hand and power tools required for all phases of projects from rough-in carpentry to trim cabinetry.
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent work experience or vocational training.
• At least two years of maintenance experience; resort and/or hotel experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience; must meet company motor vehicle policy standards.
• Ability to perform skilled work in general maintenance, including painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
• High-quality skills in finish/trim-out construction, drywall finishing, cabinetry, flooring, and laminate repair.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, AM, and PM shifts.
