General Maintenance Mechanic - Painter

About the role

The General Maintenance Mechanic/Painter reports to the Director of Plant Operations. This position focuses on completing a preventative maintenance program with an emphasis on painted surfaces, painting building and material surfaces, troubleshooting, maintaining, and making general repairs on mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes a preventative maintenance program with an emphasis on painted surfaces.
• Paints surfaces of buildings and materials to ensure protection from the elements and maintain cosmetic standards.
• Troubleshoots problems with pumps, fans, HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, and related equipment and completes basic repairs as necessary.
• Documents issues and findings and completes preventive (P.M.) and general maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Opens and closes all work orders in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Participates in the “on-call” rotation as scheduled (after hours and weekends).

• Serves as an Essential Personnel, available for duty for inclement weather safety responsibilities, campus closures, and weekend work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Personal hand tools required.
• Computer literacy with Niagara/American Auto Matrix – Energy Management Systems preferred but not required.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with other technical and maintenance personnel.
• Valid PA driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move materials and tools.
• Operate power tools in a safe and proper manner.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems.

Skills

• Computer literacy with Niagara/American Auto Matrix – Energy Management Systems.
• Universal Technician or other HVAC certifications preferred but not required.

Negotiable based on experience.
