General Maintenance Mechanic/Handyman

About the role

We are seeking a skilled professional to support ongoing facilities operations by performing a range of general maintenance and handyman tasks. Our team values collaboration, reliability, and a proactive approach to ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained work environment.

Responsibilities

• Aid the current maintenance mechanic with routine in-house duties, including preventative and demand maintenance tasks.
• Conduct periodic compliance and regulatory inspections, completing and filing all required documentation.
• Support or oversee third-party vendors performing service, maintenance, or repair projects and manage in-house small project work.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace, communicate effectively with site personnel and service providers, and ensure all safety policies are followed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in general building repair and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.
• Ability to perform and document compliance and regulatory inspections, and follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe tool use—ladders, basic hand tools, manual drain augers, safety goggles, ear protection, and fire extinguishers.
• Ability to collaborate with and oversee third-party vendors, maintain clear communication, and comply with all site safety protocols and practices.
