General Maintenance lll
About the role
Tessera is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Worker lll with a positive and can-do attitude. The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly-skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs and minor electrical work.
- Clean roof drains and gutters.
- Replace electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Caulk plumbing kitchen fixtures.
- Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
- Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
- Communicate with scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
- Follow all Safety Procedures and Policies.
- Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, decks, stoops, and sidewalks.
Qualifications
- Journeyman certification preferred.
- Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Physical Requirements
- The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
- Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
