General Maintenance- IL- Campus Facilities 2nd Shift- Monday-Friday 3 pm-11:30 pm

About the role

Maintains and cleans campus grounds, buildings, equipment, and vehicles. Regular hours are Monday-Friday from 3:00 pm-11:30 pm, with some flexibility required.

Responsibilities

• Operate power and hand tools associated with maintenance and landscaping
• Operate pick-up trucks, flatbed trucks and dump trucks for hauling purposes and for trash and debris removal
• Operate various snow removal equipment
• Maintains and repairs small tools, equipment and vehicles
• Performs interior and exterior carpentry and painting work
• Repairs and maintains floors, carpets, and walls
• Troubleshoots and adjusts door, cabinet, closet and desk locks and repairs or replaces worn parts
• Repairs and maintains interior and exterior doors and door closing mechanisms
• Maintains grounds, pathways and roadways to include: mowing lawns, trimming edges, planting, watering, pruning trees and shrubs, removing leaves and litter, clearing snow, spreading salt, repairing fences, gates, walls and walkways, cleaning sewer openings, maintaining parking lots and other surfaces, and minor asphalt repairs
• Installs and removes outdoor signs, parking and traffic control barriers and overhead banners
• Moves furniture, filing cabinets or other requested work moves
• Configures movable walls per schedule
• Sets up and breaks down layouts for events
• Cleans work area, tools and equipment as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid drivers license
