About the Role

Responsibilities
- Follow the preventive maintenance schedule for the Hotel Hershey facility, including changing water filters, cleaning and sanitizing ice machines, and replacing air filters, belts, and hoses.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems in maintenance areas, using test equipment, schematic circuits, and blueprints. Report water, electric, and gas meters.
- Maintain kitchen equipment, furniture, doors, hardware, TVs, stoves, and dishwashers (including repair of water lines, valves, and low-pressure steam lines).
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest room and house calls.
- Complete shift reports detailing work performed to ensure efficient communication with team members and supervisors.
- Assist with training new team members and perform general maintenance tasks as required.
- Support tasks outlined in Maintenance/General II and I to progress in knowledge and skills.
- Assist engineering as needed and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to use an electric meter and understand lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, including basic repairs to toilets, faucets, and drain lines.
- Technical schooling or three years of related work experience in the trades.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a related trade.
Skills
- Ability to complete the Maintenance Basic Training Checklist within four weeks of starting.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Hospitality industry experience in maintenance or facilities preferred.
Schedule
Primary shifts include 1st shift (7 AM–3:30 PM), 2nd shift (3 PM–11:30 PM), or 3rd shift (11 PM–7:30 AM), including weekends, holidays, and some overtime. Based on operational demands, other shifts may be required. This is a union position, and the schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be available for evening and weekend hours.
