General Ledger Accountant

About the role
This position will support the accounting team with timely completion of month-end close procedures, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reports. The ideal candidate will maintain accuracy, efficiency, and positivity in a fast-paced environment and embrace new challenges as learning opportunities.
This is a contract-to-hire position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship. The role is hybrid onsite in our San Francisco, CA office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and related supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end close procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and flux analysis
- Support documentation requests for financial reporting and audit
- Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements
- Help establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to support new business activities and reporting requirements
- Perform special ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Big 4 Accounting experience is a plus
- 1-3 years of general ledger experience
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, sum-ifs, formatting worksheets, building reconciliations, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Strong communicative skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlines
