General Laborer (Utility/Digging)

About the Role

Join CNC Civil Services as a General Laborer to support survey crews and perform hand digging to expose underground utilities. This is a full-time, onsite role based out of Halethorpe, with frequent out-of-town travel (overnight stays during the week).

Responsibilities

• Assist survey crews with marking and measuring job sites
• Hand dig to safely locate underground utilities
• Load/unload tools and keep sites organized
• Support daily field operations and cleanup
• Follow safety procedures at all times

Schedule & Travel

• 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday typical)
• Frequent out-of-town travel required (overnight stays)
• Fridays may be required depending on workload
• Work outdoors (no work in rain or snow)
• 3-day weekends most weeks

Requirements

• Able to perform physical work (lift 50+ lbs., long hours on your feet)
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Shows up on time and works hard
• Willing to travel during the week

Nice to Have

• Construction or labor experience
• OSHA 10 certification
• DOT card
