General Laborer - Redemption Center

About the role

Speedy is hiring a dedicated, reliable general laborer to join our growing team at the Speedy Redemption Center in Topsham, ME. This position is a blend of General Labor and Customer Service, where you will interact with customers as they drop off and redeem their recyclable beverages at our facility.

Position Responsibilities

• Aid in the receipt and processing of containers returned by customers.
• Clean and stack beverage container collapsible bins using both manual and power equipment.
• Operate machinery designed to sort, count, and compact empty beverage containers.
• Clean and maintain sorting areas.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and organization.
• Safety first. Arrive to the facility on time and ready to work.

Skills And Experience

• Basic math and counting skills.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written, sufficient to perform the job and communicate mechanical maintenance needs.
• Work experience in a warehouse or production environment is helpful.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Stand for an extended time period.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to use computers and other technical systems.
