Performs duties for the Streets Division as an on-call position. Must be able to report to the Streets Division office at 2525 W. 1st Street, Loveland within 30 minutes of notification.

Schedule

Generally, work hours are 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. (12-hour shifts) as determined by storm events and may include weekends and holidays. Some overtime may be required. This is a part-year position lasting a maximum of 10 months, working less than 30 hours per week.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $17.33–$23.40 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Removes snow from streets, sidewalks, alleys, and parking lots using various equipment.
  • Flagging operation for snow removal using truck-mounted or towed arrow board.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • Previous snow removal experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and crew leaders.
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions such as extreme weather variances, heavy traffic, equipment noise, and close proximity to moving vehicles.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Frequent moderate to considerable physical effort, including working from ladders in awkward positions.
  • Frequent use of light or medium-weight objects (e.g., 25–50 lbs) and medium-weight tools.
  • Frequent exposure to heat, noise, and outdoor elements.
  • Occasional strenuous to extreme physical effort, including frequent use of heavy objects (e.g., 50+ pounds) and heavy tools in awkward positions.
  • Occasional exposure to unpredictable conditions that may lead to injury.

Additional Working Demands

This position is considered essential personnel required to report for duty in response to community emergencies (e.g., natural disaster, fire, flood, blizzard, etc.).
