General Laborer - Extrusion & Packing

About the role

Hydro Extrusions is a world-leading aluminium extrusion business with operations in over 40 countries and employs approximately 20,000 people. Responsibilities

• Receives and prints packing orders from a computer system and verifies that appropriate packing materials are available at the packing station.
• Lifts and moves aluminum extrusions up to 27' long and weighing from 10 pounds to 100 pounds between two employees from a transport rack to a spline.
• Cuts wood on a saw for packing or banding purposes.
• Assists in lifting heavy metal from a rack to a packing cart and packs bundles according to customer specifications using prescribed materials.
• Maintains identification for all racks and bundles in process.
• Loads metal onto a conveyor belt for automatic wrapping.
• Visually inspects the ends, cut lengths, and materials to ensure accuracy and quality before packing.
• Keeps records of items packed and updates Process Traveler (PT) with the last item packed.
• Ensures that finished materials are properly packaged and marked before leaving the area.
• Notifies the lead person of potential issues with pack patterns.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure showing measurements in feet and inches.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Pay

• $17/hr - $23/hr depending on experience.
• $500 sign-on bonus.
• + $1/hour for night shift differential.
• Eligible for monthly profit sharing.

Schedule

• 7pm-7am, 4x4 schedule.
• 6pm-6am, 4x4 schedule.
• 6:30pm-6:30am, Monday - Thursday.
• 7:30pm-5:30am, Monday - Thursday.
