General Labor (Plant 6)

Responsibilities

• Prepare flowers and other plants for shipping and sale to customers.
• Plant, cultivate, and maintain nursery seedlings and plants, including perennials, bedding plants, plugs, liners, vegetable plants, and hanging baskets.
• Pot/plant seedlings, fill, and label trays.
• Move product to greenhouses and organize product on docks for loading.
• Pull and assemble orders in accordance with instructions.
• Attach hangers to baskets and hang through seasonal holding houses using ladders.
• Move containerized plants using rolling/electric carts.
• Load/unload trucks and product from conveyor belt.
• Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies.
• Install and maintain irrigation systems and water lines.
• Clear debris from fields and clean/maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of nursery/manufacturing experience.
• At least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform manual tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to lift items/products up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull carts that can weigh up to 200 lbs.
• Ability to use hand tools including, but not limited to, shovels, shears, and clippers.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.
• Flexibility to work Saturdays during peak season.
• Good attendance and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work in various temperatures based on season (hot summers, cold winters).
• Ability to work at a fast pace, with long periods of standing, bending, or sitting.
• Adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Availability to work additional hours as dictated by the daily schedule.
