General Foreman (Underground)
About the Role
Primoris Services Corporation, a leading provider of critical infrastructure services, is seeking an experienced and safety-driven General Foreman to oversee underground gas distribution construction operations. This role manages multiple crews, coordinates field activities, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivers projects on schedule and within budget. The position is based in Minnesota with travel to job sites across Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of underground gas distribution crews and subcontractors
- Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of underground gas mains and services
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, company policies, and local/state regulations
- Conduct daily job site safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
- Plan manpower, equipment, and material needs for assigned projects
- Monitor production schedules and project progress to meet deadlines and budgets
- Read and interpret utility plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, municipalities, and utility representatives
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and timesheets
- Train, mentor, and develop field personnel and foremen
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and operational disruptions
- Ensure proper restoration and cleanup of work sites
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in underground gas distribution construction
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation methods, gas distribution systems, and pipeline safety practices
- Ability to lead multiple crews in a fast-paced construction environment
- Experience with excavation, trenching, shoring, and heavy equipment operations
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and utility industry standards
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience as a Foreman or General Foreman
- CDL (preferred but not required)
Pay
$42.71 - $43.71/hour, dependent on experience and union pay scale. Competitive compensation paid weekly.
