General Foreman -Plumbing

About the Role

As a Plumbing Foreman, you are a key leader on our mechanical teams, responsible for overseeing all phases of piping installation with precision, efficiency, and a deep commitment to quality. This role involves coordinating crews, planning daily tasks, solving layout challenges, and ensuring code compliance to drive projects forward on time and within scope. You will lead by example, leveraging your experience with industrial piping, welding, rigging, and system testing, while mentoring journeymen and apprentices to uphold the highest standards of safety and craftsmanship. Collaboration with superintendents, project managers, and other trades is essential to keep work flowing and resolve issues in real time.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to project schedule and orchestrate timely project completion within budgeted costs.
• Cooperate with project management and maintain open lines of communication regarding project budget, productivity, change orders, and customer satisfaction.
• Practice, promote, and develop mentoring at all trade and manpower levels throughout the project.
• Devote the majority of time to work installation and installation-related duties.
• Assist Corporate Safety Managers as requested.
• Act as a customer satisfaction and public relations liaison.
• Work within the perimeters of the project budget.
• Ensure quality craftsmanship on all mechanical system installations.
• Comply with company policy and procedure.
• Develop a ‘Master Plan’ approach for the project.
• Execute, supervise, and maintain CPMI (Critical Path Method Implementation).
• Schedule daily and weekly scope of work activities (short interval plan).
• Handle material, tool, and equipment requisitions.
• Maintain workforce quality and proper journeyman to apprentice ratio.
• Ensure code compliance.
• Resolve conflicts.
• Maintain current, updated, and amended drawings ready for inspection at all times.

Requirements

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Accountability for safety and health; empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present.
• Implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices, including training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, site-specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 30.
• Journeyman Plumbers License required for General Foreman Plumbing and General Foreman Lead Plumbing roles.
• Indirect supervision and performance of technical responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques, and procedures.
• Coordinate tasks within a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.
• Contribute to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
• Skilled specialist or recent college/university graduate with role-specific skills and experience.
• Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
• Supervision and guidance of crews.

Qualifications

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas.
• Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces, and other adverse locations.
• Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
• Work in all types of weather.
• Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.
