About the Role
The General Foreman will manage multiple crews at one or more customer locations, overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure productivity and alignment with common goals. This position may occasionally fill in as a Team Lead or Area Manager. The role involves promoting a Culture of Zero regarding Safety & Quality, ensuring compliance with Safety Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures, and maintaining detailed project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Organize regular meetings with staff and management to review project progress, outlook, and potential roadblocks or opportunities.
- Assess site safety and implement actions to prevent injury to property and personnel through safety audits.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate daily drilling operations to maximize productivity.
- Transition project management and HDD Services activities from planning to completion.
- Conduct daily job briefings and hazard assessments with subcontractors to ensure OSHA Regulations, Southwire Safety compliance, and Customer compliance on sites.
- Complete data and billing entries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Organize, scan, and upload project documentation, photos, as-builts, and other files to company systems as required.
- Work with Project Management on all aspects of the project, including change orders and resource requirements.
- Understand project budgets and control expenses accordingly.
- Coordinate civil activities, including excavation (certification a plus).
- Handle job planning, hazard avoidance, and record daily work records.
- Grow the customer relationship by actively engaging the customer at multiple organizational levels in cooperation with operational and sales executives.
