Roles And Responsibilities

• Maintains coordination of maintenance and cleanup activities.
• Ensures equipment inspections comply with FRA and NJ TRANSIT regulations.
• Establishes and monitors overtime plans and vacation coverage.
• Coordinates equipment manipulation, shop moves, and emergency repairs.
• Monitors and ensures proper entry and maintenance of information in RAMS.
• Trains Mechanical personnel on new technologies and maintains training records.
• Promotes positive labor/management relationships.
• Monitors material usage and availability for timely repairs.
• Oversees compliance with NJ TRANSIT Safety Rules, Regulations, and Hazards.
• Implements corrective actions and documents observations.
• Investigates unusual occurrences and takes corrective action.

Education, Experience, And Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of progressive rail equipment/maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
• Two years of experience working with mechanical systems may substitute for one year of rail equipment/maintenance experience.
