About the role
The Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department (FCPRD) seeks enthusiastic and creative individuals to join their team as part-time Parks & Recreation Instructors. They offer flexible schedules, creative freedom, and beautiful settings to teach in.
Responsibilities
- Motivating and guiding participants while maintaining a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
- Preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.
- Leading instructional classes, demonstrating proper techniques, and providing adaptations to meet diverse needs.
- Completing basic administrative tasks, including class planning and attendance tracking.
- Promoting upcoming programs and providing excellent customer service.
- Staying up to date on trends and best practices in your subject area.
- Participating in occasional meetings, events, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 18 years of age.
- A willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess a passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Experience in your area of expertise is preferred but not required.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks.
