Instructor position playing a critical role in the teaching and learning process, ensuring students achieve mastery of course, program, and institutional learning outcomes. Responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in program improvement, and participating in institutional and student affairs initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares lessons and course materials in accordance with the college's curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods and resources.
  • Adheres to course syllabi, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation requirements.
  • Delivers instruction through dynamic and varied techniques to support diverse learning styles.
  • Maintains a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
  • Maintains regular communication with students regarding progress, attendance, and performance; provides timely responses to inquiries.
  • Offers proactive academic advising, tutoring, and office hours to assist students with course material and career development.
  • Participates in student affairs activities such as orientation, student clubs, and career services events.
  • Regularly assesses student learning outcomes and implements strategies to enhance performance and course effectiveness.
  • Uses student achievement data to contribute to program improvement processes, including program review and evaluation.
  • Stays current with industry trends and academic best practices.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, industry advisory boards, and faculty development activities.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across departments to support student success, retention, and program outcomes.
  • Mentors and supports new faculty members.
  • Adheres to institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards; ensures program compliance.
  • Documents grades, attendance, student advising, and other required information using designated software.
  • Participates in programmatic and institutional assessments for accreditation and quality improvement.
  • Ensures relevance of instructional materials and facilitates improvements as needed.
  • Maintains classroom and lab equipment in good working condition; facilitates timely repair and maintenance.
  • Fulfills additional responsibilities as assigned by Program Director, Academic Dean, or Campus Director/President.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in subject area or Master’s Degree in another subject area with 18+ graduate hours in subject area.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to area of expertise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations relevant to course material and student assessments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and any software required for course delivery.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $75,000–$80,000 annually.

Physical Demands

  • On-site, student-facing role requiring regular standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Vocational classrooms, labs, or office spaces with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.
