About the role
The General Clerk II is responsible for performing various general clerical tasks such as data entry, filing documents, answering multi-line phones/voicemail systems, scheduling, reviewing records, and producing reports. The role requires comprehension of workplace operations including external and internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Gathers, compiles, and verifies information and performs data entry.
- Follows clearly detailed procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps such as data entry, filing, operating basic office equipment (photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, and minimal computer programs).
- Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.
- Affords assistance in a variety of administrative matters including verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness, compiling information, scheduling, and handling and adjusting complaints.
- Utilizes experience and knowledge to determine the clerical steps (type of sequence) to be used, depending on the task. Recognized problems are referred to others.
- Affords assistance in inventories.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass the standard background check.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
- Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
- Two (2) or more years of related experience working in an office environment preferred.
