ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Removing Germs: Remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls.
• Spot Cleaning Windows: Use proper solution to clean windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean various bathroom surfaces.
• Checking and Refilling Soap Dispensers: Daily check and refill soap and paper dispensers.
• Emptying Trash Cans: Remove liners and wipe trash cans; empty and replace liners.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum using the "S" stroke, paying attention to under furniture and in restrooms.
• Mopping Floors: Use proper germicidal solution to mop floors, including under furniture and behind doors.
• Grounds Care: Clean and check outside areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, and curb line.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, be friendly and answer questions, report issues to supervisor, and maintain a clean appearance.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned, such as floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Communication skills to interact with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate and interpret instructions for cleaning chemicals.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties, including lifting, carrying, walking, standing, sitting, operating equipment, and reaching.
