Schedule
- Sunday–Wednesday: 2:00–10:30 PM
- Wednesday & Thursday: Off
- Friday & Saturday: 1:00–9:30 PM
Dining Centers are open 7 days a week. Working weekends, evenings, and holidays is expected.
About the Role
Tufts Dining is a self-operated food service provider managing a comprehensive collegiate food service program on the Tufts University Medford-Somerville and SMFA/Fenway campus, delivering high quality, contemporary and innovative food, and hospitality services to meet the various needs of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors in a fiscally responsible manner. Our team provides a progressive resident dining program as well as innovative retail services and a distinctive catering program serving a campus community of 6,600 undergraduates, 2,100 graduate students, and 2,300 staff, faculty, and administrators.
Responsibilities
- Provide service to internal and external customers through cleaning, ware washing, pot washing, dish room tasks, stocking, sweeping, mopping, and overall upkeep and sanitation of the unit.
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, air dry, and store them in designated areas.
- Correctly use cleaning and sanitizing agents, ensuring water is at the proper temperature.
- Maintain the unit mop-sink and custodial rooms in an organized and clean state.
- Assist in keeping equipment, props, and supplies in their designated storage areas.
- Move equipment on and off dining vehicles both inside and outside the unit.
- Follow established procedures for cleaning small-wares and equipment.
- Ensure proper disposal of trash, recycling, composting, and upkeep of storage bins/containers.
- Assist with basic kitchen tasks as needed.
- Provide support and assistance to assigned helpers.
- Demonstrate the ability to work under periods of fast-pace and high pressure.
- Adhere to timekeeping policies, including punching in and out according to schedule and department standards.
- Follow posted schedules; schedules are posted 14 days in advance (excludes catering).
- Submit time-off requests following proper procedure; approval is based on department business needs. No requests will be honored for Senior Week, Holidays, Alumni Weekend, Commencement, Orientation, Matriculation, or Special Events during the Academic Year.
Requirements
- Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn and execute various jobs as needed.
- Must enjoy a high degree of customer (internal and external) contact and have a friendly, helpful attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma.
Pay
$27.41 per hour.
