General Assignment Reporter
About the Role
KUTV is seeking a full-time News Reporter who is a strong storyteller, capable of humanizing stories and making them impactful for a broad audience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about uncovering exclusive and enterprise stories that resonate with viewers. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on differentiating content, strong writing, and creativity across multiple platforms.
This position is perfect if you enjoy:
- Jumping on breaking stories and beating competitors on digital, social media, and television
- Listening to scanner traffic to find breaking news
- Digging through probable cause and other documents to uncover hard news and enterprise stories that competitors overlook
Responsibilities
- Produce regular content for digital platforms, social media, and other assigned duties
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, both on the desk and in the field
- Operate under deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends
Requirements
- At least 3 years of on-air experience (this is NOT an entry-level position)
- Exemplary communication skills
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
