General Assembly Study Specialist
About the role
The Advanced Planning Study Specialist is responsible for coordinating the development of investment in manufacturing studies for next generation of new model programs. The Specialist will lead, facilitate and coordinate the activities of the study team, serve as the liaison with Product Engineering and technical estimation specialists as well as develop and audit final deliverables. The Specialist will also coordinate Product Committee, Industrial Committee and Global Product Committee meeting preparation activities, ensure manufacturing related information is properly utilized and resolve conflicts with the engineering teams. The person in this position will be expected to effectively communicate with and routinely present to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of investment in manufacturing studies for next generation of new model programs
- Lead, facilitate and coordinate the activities of the study team
- Serve as the liaison with Product Engineering and technical estimation specialists
- Develop and audit final deliverables
- Cook up Product Committee, Industrial Committee and Global Product Committee meeting preparation activities
- Ensure manufacturing related information is properly utilized
- Resolve conflicts with the engineering teams
- Effectively communicate with and routinely present to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes with a focus on Body in White (BIW), Paint, General Assembly, Logistics, Stamping and/or Quality
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong organizational/project management skills
- Self-Motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Vehicle Assembly and/or Vehicle Launch experience
- Experience with cost estimation for tooling and automation
Skills
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel)
- Organizational and project management skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
