Job Summary
A Drawer Box Assembler builds, rails, and fronts drawer boxes for cabinets.
Essential Functions
- Use air tools, hand tools, jigs, and other equipment to build drawer boxes, prepare dummy fronts, and install rails/clips onto completed boxes
- Use glue to assemble drawer boxes and hot melt glue to attach rails to boxes
- Ensure quality specifications are met for all aspects of drawer box assembly
- Accurately interpret production labels
- Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
Qualifications
- Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types and styles; ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure
- Required Education & Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Required Physical Ability: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time; frequent bending, crouching, pulling and pushing; regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
- Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, and gloves
- The noise level is usually moderate to high
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
