Responsibilities

• Handles complex losses locally unassisted up to designated authority; assists on larger losses, including handling accounting-based losses (business interruption and stock).
• Investigates and adjusts complex property and casualty claims, including bodily injury, slip/trip and fall, and third-party property damage exposures.
• Examines claim forms and other records to determine insurance coverage and liability.
• Interviews, telephones, or corresponds with claimants, insureds, witnesses, and other involved parties regarding claims.
• Consults police, medical, employment, and other records; inspects property damage and loss locations to determine extent of liability and damages.
• Estimates cost of repair, replacement, remediation, or compensation.
• Prepares reports of findings and claim recommendations.
• Recommends litigation by legal department when warranted by claim complexity or disputed liability
