This role handles large losses or claims regionally exceeding $10M, addressing complex adjustment issues related to damages and coverage. You will assist on even larger losses and manage smaller and non-complex National Accounts.

Responsibilities

• Examines claim forms and records to determine insurance coverage.
• Administers and reconciles complex catastrophic claims for property.
• Interviews, telephones, or corresponds with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
• Consults police and hospital records; inspects property damage to determine the extent of company liability and methods of investigation.
• Estimates cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
• Prepares reports of findings and negotiates settlements with claimants.
• Recommends litigation by the legal department when settlements cannot be negotiated.
• Attends litigation hearings.
• Revises case reserves in assigned claims files to cover probable costs.
• Prepares loss experience reports to determine profitability and calculate adequate future rates.
• Interacts with excess carriers to determine coverages, excess insurance levels, and potential reimbursements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Must have earned the IIA-AIC designation.
• Appropriate state adjuster license is required.
• Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Physical: Computer keyboarding; travel as required.

Pay

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $145,000.
