Hourly Pay Rate: $12-15 per hour depending on education and experience
FLSA: Job Summary/Basic Function: Under the direction of the GEAR UP Program Director, the part-time GEAR UP College Access Advisor/Site Coordinator will work with approximately 100-135 GEAR UP students, grades 7-9, in North Layton Junior High and Sunset Junior High in Davis School Districts.
The GEAR UP College Access Advisor/Site Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the following GEAR UP grant objectives:
1) Increase academic performance and preparation for post-secondary education;
2) Increase the rate of high school graduation and enrollment in post-secondary education;
3) Increase GU students and their families’ knowledge of postsecondary education options, preparation and financing.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree required from an accredited institution of higher education
The equivalent of one year full-time or part-time work/volunteer experience with socially and economically disadvantaged and/or diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications: The equivalent of one year full-time or part-time work/volunteer experience with socially and economically disadvantaged and/or diverse student populations.

Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with FAFSA and the financial aid process
- Experience or knowledge of K-12 public education
