About the role
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global leader in providing equipment and tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Currently, SMR has an opening for a Gear Shop 1 at the Brier Hill, PA location.
Responsibilities
- The disassembly of gear boxes from Sandvik equipment
- Progressing into basic assembly functions with minimal training
- Developing additional capability to inspect, order material, and assemble gear boxes
- Service the aftermarket for the geographical area
- Interact with a supervisor as well as a peer group
- Work with customers and various technical services personnel
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience with industry-specific equipment
- Technical diploma or certification in a mechanical or electrical discipline
- Effective customer relations
- Active listening skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The flexibility to do shift work
Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend and interpret drawings
- The flexibility to do shift work is required
- Works overtime/weekends as required
- Upholds safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements
- Works in a team setting with the ability to convey and receive ideas/suggestions in a positive way
