Job Overview
The Gatekeeper is the initial point of contact for homeowners, board members, residents, guests, and vendors. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the highest level of service is provided to all.
Responsibilities
- Understand and react to emergency situations and operate electronic gate control systems.
- Provide exceptional service to all residents and guests.
- Greet and welcome residents and guests, directing them to their destinations if needed.
- Comply with all safety regulations and follow all policies and procedures established by the association.
- Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
- Conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
- Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work in an upright, standing, or sitting position for long periods.
- Ability to navigate the property as required to meet job functions.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on gate staffing requirements.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate both on the phone and in person with clients.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.
- Ability to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under stress.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Climbing several flights of stairs if necessary.
- Sitting and standing for extended periods.
- Communicating with guests, supervisors, and other associates.
- Working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Alternating between indoor and outdoor settings.
- Interacting with all types of individuals, maintaining mental alertness, detail orientation, and reasoning skills.
- Remaining alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
- Working in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations.
Compensation
$18/hour
