Gate Technician
We're looking for an experienced Gate Technician to run service calls, assist with installations, troubleshoot automated gate systems, and take pride in quality work. Our projects cover both commercial and residential sites throughout Northern Illinois, involving a variety of gate systems—from mechanical repairs and welding to gate operators, control boards, vehicle loops, and sensing devices. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial and residential automated gate systems.
- Install and service swing, slide, barrier gate systems, and related access controls.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical failures.
- Replace control boards, loops, photo eyes, receivers, and external sensing devices.
- Perform welding and light fabrication as needed.
- Repair hinges, rollers, tracks, wheels, locks, and gate hardware.
- Complete service documentation with photos and notes.
- Represent Gate Options professionally with customers.
Requirements
- 2 years of automated gate experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair commercial and residential automated gate systems.
- Experience installing and programming commercial and residential gate operators.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Comfortable using a multimeter and reading wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors.

$25 to $35 per hour starting pay
